China to Conduct Wireless City Pilot Project in Jiading District, Shanghai

Jiading District of Shanghai, China, earmarked as one of Shanghai's three main new towns in the 11th Five-Year Plan period, is projected to become the first wireless zone in China by year-end 2007, Taiwan's United Daily News reported. A Wireless City pilot project is scheduled to commence in Maoqiao Village and Modern Agriculture Garden in late September 2007. By 2010, all the outdoor areas in Jiading District are expected to be covered by the wireless network.
